SAVE A PHOTO FROM THE WEB ON YOUR IPHONE

Of late I’ve noticed more and more people sharing images on our Facebook wall of what are obviously saved screenshots from their iPhone. What’s the big deal you ask? They’re typically square images with black bands top and bottom (see image below). This not only looks amateurish but doesn’t save the image to its optimal full resolution.

So are you one of those who wonder how to save a photo or image to your device? It’s just as easy as the screenshot method and oh so much better.

  • Find the photo you wish to save
  • Tap and hold down on the photo
  • A menu will slide up – tap “Save Image”
  • The photo will be saved to your Camera Roll
  • To find the picture later, just launch the Photo app.

Bonus Tip: If you do insist on taking a screenshot to save an image, or the above method doesn’t work (some websites don’t allow images to be saved), then pinch to zoom into the image at the desired crop and take a screenshot.

There you have it! I’ll be watching our Facebook wall to ensure you are all reading these extremely informative posts.
